Sacred Heart Men's Choir, Caro
Over the course of 37+ years, we have seen several members leave the choir. Some have moved to other cities or states, some have joined our Father in Heaven. This page is meant to remember our members who are hopefully singing in the Heavenly Choir. This page is a work in progress. If you have other information you would like included, please call Dave (673-7035) and the page can be updated.
George Reiha was a early member of our choir and sang on our first recording. He had the spoken part on When a Child is Born (below)
Jim LaPratt joined the choir with his brother, Wayne. Wayne still sings with us, but we lost Jim in 2008.
We lost two members in 2020. Dan Monville, a long time member, sang bass. Dan loved "The Old Rugged Cross," among several other songs.
Jack Generous was also a bass and played drums with the group for a time. He was soloist on "Prayer Bells of Heaven" for the last several years.
Cal Richardson sang with the choir for several years before he moved to North Carolina to be closer to the family members who lived down there. Cal passed in 2021, but was featured on our recording of "Prayer Bells in Heaven"
Bill Touchett sang with the choir from the early years until 2011. Before he passed in 2014, the group sang for him at the home where he was living.
We also sang for Harry Randall at his home before he passed. Harry sang with the choir from the early years, as did several on this page.
Russ Glasgow also sang with the choirs in the early years. Russ passed in 2016.
Along with his twin brother Willard, Willis sang with the Sacred Heart Men’s choir from the 80’s. The brother’s aren’t identical twins in musical tastes. They both like Blest Be the Lord, but Willis’ other favorites are I Believe in the Sun, If Everyday Was Like Christmas, and Prayer Bells from Heaven. The choir sang the song below at Willis' funeral in April of 2022.
Joe Bissonnette was a very active member of the church in Mayville and often sang with our choir there. His passing was a shock to both the Mayville and the Caro churches.
Many of the individual pictures are from church directories. All have been cropped to feature the choir member (sorry wives!) Special thanks to Wayne LaPratt and Karen Cody who helped with pictures which were hard to find.
